By the numbers & in real lives

Impact you can count — and impact you can feel.

Since 2017, Elle International has reached more women and girls than the populations of entire cities — and changed what a period means for them. Here’s what that looks like.

What changes

When a girl has what she needs, she stays.

The most powerful result we measure is simple: girls staying in school. After participating in Elle International’s education programs, schools saw a 50% increase in attendance during menstruation — and a majority of girls reported feeling more confident in dealing with their own health.

Attendance becomes achievement. Confidence becomes voice. And a single, sustainable product becomes years of dignity that a family no longer has to choose against food.

Reach

Rooted in South Africa, reaching across the continent.

Elle International’s programs began in South African schools and communities and have extended to women and girls around Africa — through direct distribution, workshops, partnerships and, increasingly, digital platforms.

Schools

Workshops & product distribution where girls are most affected.

Communities

Reaching women beyond the classroom, free of stigma.

Partners

Amplifying reach with institutions and funders.

Digital

Platforms that scale information to millions.

In her words
“I honestly wish I knew about this sooner. It’s so empowering not having to worry — I have 100% confidence now.”

A sentiment we hear again and again — the moment a woman stops managing around her body and starts moving freely through her life. That shift, multiplied by thousands, is the change we exist for.

How we measure

Accountable to the women we serve — and to those who fund us.

We track outcomes, not just outputs. Products distributed matter; girls staying in school and women feeling in control of their health matter more.

Outcomes over outputs

Attendance, confidence and access — the changes that last.

Evidence-led

Measurement built into programs, feeding our research work.
